Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Eric was introduced to the Translation and Interpreting industry at an early age. As Managing Director of ATIS, he leads the family business and strives to always make ATIS an industry leader.
Since 2005, Eric has been a Spanish<>English Translator/Interpreter and Linguistic and Cross-cultural Consultant at ATIS. Then, since 2010, he also held the position of Managing Director (CEO) at ATIS. Eric has studied the course 'Ethical Codes for Translators and Interpreters' and was the first student to obtain the SPTIA (Syndicate of Professional Translators and Interpreters of Australia) certificate for this course. His achievement has been recognised on the official SPTIA blog site. Eric is a graduate of La Trobe University (Melbourne) holding a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Orthoptics. He is an Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB) registered Orthoptist. Additionally he holds a Master of Nursing Science from the University of Melbourne, and is a Registered Nurse (RN) holding Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)/Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration (non-practicing). Moreover, Eric is a passionate Catholic Moral Theologian and Bioethicist. He holds a Graduate Diploma of Theology and Master of Theological Studies; both from Catholic Theological College (CTC)/University of Divinity (UDiv). Currently he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of bioethics. Due to his health professional qualifications, Eric oversees medical, health and scientific technical translations in addition to translation projects of ethical or theological content.
